Yoga as an Evolutionary Process

Yoga is a process of evolution that assists in the development of human consciousness. In any individual, total consciousness doesn’t begin as a process but begins when that individual wants it. Engaging in a host of immoral activities such as consuming drugs, engaging in too much sex, or working exhaustively all contribute to nothing but returning to unconsciousness. Yoga begins where western psychology comes to an end. Yoga doesn’t direct towards psychology; it rather is a question of attaining higher consciousness. If Freud’s psychology relates to disease, and Maslow’s psychology relates to being healthy; then Indian psychology relates to enlightenment. Yoga isn’t about attaining mental health; it is rather about experiencing spiritual growth.
