Yoga as a Universal Practical Discipline

Yoga is a discipline that is universal in nature, irrespective of nationality, race, culture, age, gender, or physical condition of an individual. Yoga rests on practice and application, without which, an individual cannot become an accomplished yogi. Merely wearing the attire of an ascetic or reading text cannot help an individual become a yogi. It requires experiencing the utility of yogic techniques and realizing its inherent potential, which comes from practice or sadhana. Regular practice of Yoga techniques creates a unique pattern in the body and uplifts the mind. As a Universal Practical Discipline, yoga helps the practitioner experience higher stages of consciousness. It enlightens the mind and helps filter gross consciousness.
