Himachal Pradesh has a fairly large number of Amchis, especially in the regions of Manali, Lahoul-Spiti, and Kinnor. These Amchis are practicing Sowa-Rigpa without any support from Government agencies. There is a small institute in the region of Manali that provides training in Sowa-Rigpa to a few students. Also, there is a clinic of Men-tsee-Khang in Dharamsala. The Himachal Pradesh government has also appointed Amchis to provide public healthcare services in the regions of Lahoul-Spiti and Kinnor.
