The healthcare activities are being rendered in Ayothidoss Pandithar Hospital which is attached with NIS wherein the average OPD visits per day is more than 2000 patients and IPD with bed strength of 200 beds functioning. The bed occupancy is more than 95% generally in all days. The Institute provides free Siddha medical care on all 365 days of year from 8.00 AM to 12.00 Noon in OPD and 24 hours service in IPD. The patient care service is catered by the Faculty members and PG Scholars. The out patient census ranges from 1800 to 2500 per day. The In-patient facility provides medical care with 200 beds earmarked to clinical PG departments. A payment ward with 12 beds is also available.
Along with the OPD & IPD services external therapies like Varmam, Thokkanam (Physical therapy), Leech Therapy, Patru (Poulice – Cataplasm), Ottradam (Fomentation), Pugai (Fumigation), Suttigai (Cauterization) and Yogam are also provided to the needy patients. An exclusive Karanool OP (Surgical threading) is also functioning to provide treatment for conditions like Hemorrhoids, Fistula, Abscess, Cancerous lesions etc., and also for cleansing & dressing certain conditions of wounds, abrasions, bruises and burns. The weekly special OPs for Diabetes, Cardiac Diseases & Bronchial Asthma, Geriatrics, Gynecology, Yogam & Kayakalpam (Rejuventation), Obesity, Cosmetology, Infertility, Renal Diseases & Hypertension, and Cancer are being run on the afternoon of specified week days to provide focused consultation, counseling and medicines to the visiting patients from 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM. In compliance with the direction of Swachh Bharat – Swasthya Rakshan and Swasthya Parikshan camps are conducted every week in outreach clinic to promote and propagate the Siddha System of Medicine.
