Like every other medicinal system, the Ayurvedic system of medicine also involves the usage of medicines and drugs for particular therapies. These therapies have contraindication and the potential for side effects. Buying Ayurveda medicines is safe only when the consumer purchases these medicines from the licensed manufacturer. Moreover, there are certain things that must be checked before buying these medicines including the label of the container showcasing manufacturing date, expiry date, batch number of the medicine, dose and usage suggestions along with components of the medicine and essential precaution.
It is important to check all these demographics because therapies may be used incorrectly. They can be administered improperly or prescribed by unlicensed/unqualified practitioners.
Ministry of Ayush has even released a public notice to create awareness amongst the public regarding the purchase of Ayurveda medicines. It also instructed the licensed manufacturers to put a proper label before selling the medicines to the public.
